Rami Al Hatab's Summary
I founded QShield in 2008 as Qatar’s first Immigration Services Provider, specializing in Global Mobility. Dedicated to growing Qatar industry, QShield provides full immigration services that help corporations mobilize professionals to their respective Qatar branches. With unparalleled industry knowledge and experience, QShield has established a market-lead position, trusted reputation and top-ranking success rate.
I attribute much of QShield’s success to the hands-on approach we take to client management. QShield’s team of Global Mobility and legal professionals are committed to seeing every case through - from initial incubation to personnel localization. Global Mobility is a corporate undertaking, but QShield takes a personal approach.
Rami Al Hatab's Experience
Founder/Director
Qshield
Privately Held; 11-50 employees; Information Services industry
2008 – Present (5 years) Doha - Qatar
As founder and director of QShield I am committed to setting industry precedent and take a technology-forward approach to business reform. In response to Qatar's ever-growing requirement for international talent and to support the global mobility initiatives of our large international corporate clients, I initiated the development of an innovative immigration portal. Cutting edge technology (like the flexibility of cloud-computing), the extensive industry knowledge of QShield, the efficiency of streamlined workflows and the user-friendliness of social media communication were leveraged to develop this evolved solution. What was previously a lengthy, non-transparent and paper-based application has been replaced with a new online immigration process that is secure and transparent - offering an interactive user-experience and yielding predictable results.
Global Mobility Manager
Microsoft
Public Company; 10,001+ employees; MSFT; Computer Software industry
March 2006 – June 2010 (4 years 4 months) Qatar
I was responsible for advancing Microsoft’s establishment in Qatar (as new market). Presiding over communications between Qatar’s government and chief officers at Microsoft, I worked to orchestrate the development of protocol and operational standards (including employment compliance & migration status). Furthermore, I negotiated and established all required security clearances and developed business process workflows for Microsoft’s Global Mobility team moving forward.
Delegate
Qatar Science & Technology Park
Nonprofit; 11-50 employees; Research industry
2006 – 2010 (4 years) Qatar
QSTP is a national agency working to grow Qatar’s innovative economy by encouraging institutes from around the world to develop and commercialize their technologies locally. Charged with this unique responsibility, QSTP has associations with top universities and uses applied research to provide strategic services and support programs to these institutions. On behalf of Microsoft, I was the interface between Microsoft and the QSTP on all issues relating to compliance, licensing, governing, rules and regulations. My aim was to ensure Microsoft's establishment in compliance with QSTA process-standards in addition to local-law and this his objective was achieved. Microsoft was one of QSTP's first proud members and its technology is strongly rooted within Qatar.
Corporate Immigration Advisor
Independent Contract
2007 – 2009 (2 years)
As consultant/advisor I worked to grow Qatar’s IT industry presence by providing Global Mobility services to IT corporations seeking expansion within their Qatar branches. Familiarity with government process, compliancy standards and immigration policy armed me with the knowledge and foresight to adapt Global Mobility processes to maximize efficiencies and best serve client needs. My strong ties within the IT industry credited me with immediate client-demand; however, it was through dedication, successful delivery and personal service that strong and lasting relationships were cemented with each client.
